Mostly cloudy with some sunny breaks and scattered showers in the afternoon. It was a bit breezy, at least associated with the shower I saw.
My outside time today consisted of a drive out the road with Rowan and a stop at Pioneer Park to renew acquaintances with the shooting starts that grow there (they’re the only ones of this species I’m aware of along the road system).
I think overall they were near their peak, though some flowers were clearly past prime, and others were just starting to develop.
The sun was bright, but a fair breeze made it a little more challenging to take photos.
Walking back along the rocks, Rowan and I noticed some goosetongue that had been cropped off. She speculated it might be deer. I don’t remember noticing deer browsing goosetongue before, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Another possibility is someone picked it. (It is a good edible, but it also could have been a kid playing and picking a handful of greens to throw at someone).
We drove through a rain shower on our way out the road, but when we were heading back in not too much later, it was over.
It was back to solid overcast this evening.
