We woke up on the bluffs to overcast skies. I had a call I wanted to try and be on, and at least some mediocre cell reception from the top of the bluffs. [As I write this, I don’t remember how the call went, I have vague memories of talking, but there is no recording of the call, which suggests we probably ended up not having a full call due to poor reception on my end, these days,
I suspect the reception there is much better.]
The clouds did break up for part of the day before reforming in the afternoon. We spent the day exploring the bluffs further.
On the way down, I spent some time observing a spider (Cyclosa conica) I had not found before visiting Red Bluff Bay. I noticed it would shake the web vigorously when it felt something had touched the web. I think it was to try and get whatever had brushed the web more tangled up. I did see it catch and wrap a fly.
