A Wild Life

Today when I went to the park it was sunny. When I was at the park I heard some kinglets, and I saw and heard a squirrel. When I was at the battle site bench, it was low tide and I saw a lot of sea gulls out by the water. When I was by the trail by the river, I saw some more sea gulls and I saw some shore birds. When I was on the trail by the river I saw some sea gulls, some ravens and a eagle on the other side of the river, the eagle had a fish that it flew off with. When I was on my way back home, I saw some sort of thrush in a bush.

Today when I went to the park it was cloudy. When I was by sage beach, I saw some people fishing for salmon. When I was by the battle site bench, I heard some kinglets. When I was at the battle site bench, it was low tide, and I saw a lot of sea gulls out by the water. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw some sea gulls, ravens, and an eagle on the other side of the river. When I was on my way back home I saw a red breasted sapsucker in a tree.

Today when I went down to the park I saw a lot of gull out at the end of the park. While I was looking through the big flock of gulls I saw a caspian tern. I took some photos of then went on looking at all the gulls. I thought that the caspian tern might be banded. So I decided to try to get bet photos of its legs so I could see if it had a banded on its leg. I was able to get to where I could see all of the legs. It was banded on one leg it had a colored  number band and on the other leg it had a color band combo and below the colored band it had a metal band. I was excited to get to see the band caspian tern.

Today when I went to the park it was cloudy. When I was at the park I saw and heard some brown creepers, and I heard some squirrels. When I was by the battle site bench, I heard some kinglets in the trees and I saw a great blue heron and some sea gulls out by the water. When I was at the battle site bench it was low tide and I saw some more seagulls out by the water. When I was on the trail by the river, I heard some chickadees and I saw some seagulls and ravens on the other side of the river.

Today when I went to the park it was cloudy. When I was by the breakwater I saw some sea gulls. When I was in the park I heard some kinglets. When I was at the battle site bench, it was low tide, and I saw some sea gulls out by the water. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw two eagles and some sea gulls on the other side of the river. When I was on my way back home I saw some crows in someone’s yard, and I saw some eagles in a tree.

Today when I went to the park it was a bit cloudy and windy. When I was out on the break water, I saw some salmon jumping, and I saw some people fishing for the salmon on a boat and on sage rock. When I was nearing the battle site bench I hear some kinglets. When I was at the battle site bench it was low tide and I saw some seagulls out by the water. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw some salmon in the river, and I saw and heard some kinglets and chickadees. When I was on my way back home I saw some juncos fly by.

Today when I went to the park it was cloudy and windy. When I was at the beginning of the park I heard some kinglets and a squirrel. When I was nearing the battle site bench, I heard and saw a raven in the trees. When I was at the battle site bench, it was low tide. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw a bunch of salmon in the river and a eagle fly over the river, and I heard some kinglets and a belted kingfisher. When I was nearing the foot bridge I heard some more kinglets and some chickadees.

Today Connor, dad and I went up to one of the peaks on harbor mountain, and it was sunny. On the way up I saw a lot of ghost moths and some juncos. We had to go off the official trail to get to the peak. Connor went ahead when we heard a red tailed hawk. Not to much later I stopped to look at a bird and dad went ahead to call for Connor. When I when caught up to dad we continued up the mountain. When we were walking we saw Connor farther up on the more steep part of the trail and dad told him to stop heading up until we caught up to him. I caught up to Connor before dad did so we sat and waited for dad on the trail. When we got closer to the top there were some parts that were steeper than others. When we got to the top there were lots of flies, and there was no view because it was cloudy on the peak. We ate lunch on the peak, and after we did that we walked around and dad took some photos and after a little bit it cleared up just enough for me too get some photos of the view. When we were heading back down I took some more photos. It was a bit tougher on my legs coming down the steep part but after that it was okay. When we were nearing the trail head was saw some more juncos and I saw some sort of warbler as well.

Today when I went down to the park there were a bunch of gulls down there. I started to look through them to see if I could find any unusual gulls in with the normal ones. Shortly after I had started looking through the gulls I found A Glaucous Winged Gull that had a band on its leg. I was able to get some photos of it and the bands. Glaucous Winged Gull are not rare or unusual here in fact they are one of our most common gulls here. I just have never seen a gull with bands on its legs before. It was exciting to get to see it. Later in the day I went out by thimbleberry lake because there was a merlin nest out there and I wanted to see If I could get better photos of the fledglings. I had seen the nest the day before but did not get very good photos of the young and I had gotten up early that morning and went out there and saw nothing. So I went out there there in the after noon I was out there for a while before a person I knew that found the nest came by we talked for a while and watched the nest and nothing happened. We stold in the forest as it rained hard in the open. After the rain had stopped we started hearing the young merlins making some noise then they started to fly around. I was able to get some good photos of them. When I went to the park, it was partly cloudy. When I was on the breakwater, I saw a lot of salmon jumping, and I saw a lot of seagulls out on the rocks. When I was at the beginning of the park, I saw a group of kinglets in a tree, one of the kinglets found a moth in the tree. When I was at the battle site bench, I saw some seagulls over the water. When I was by the trail by the river, I saw some mergansers fly by. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw some ducks on the other side of the river.
