A Wild Life

On Saturday September 3 2016 I went down to the park to see what birds were down there. I had walked around most of the park. When I was out at the end of the park up in the inner tidal zone I heard a fun sounding bird. A few seconds later I saw a little warbler hopping around in the beach grass so I looked at through my binoculars and saw that it look a little funny. It was still sitting where I could see it so I took a few photos of it then it flew away and I never saw it again. I was exciting for me two find that bird it was the first common yellowthroat I have ever seen.

Today when I went to the park it was sunny and windy. When I was out on the break water, I saw some salmon, crows, sea gulls and a kingfisher. When I was at the beginning of the park, I heard some kinglets and chickadees. When I was at the battle site bench, it was high tide, and I saw lots of seagulls on the last bits of beach. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw some ducks and salmon and someone was fishing as well. When I was on my way back home I saw a song sparrow.

Today Uncle, grampa, dad, Connor and I went up to the starrigavan land slide. On our way up the ATV trail there were lots of ATVs and motorcycles it seemed and we saw a dead squirrel on the side of the ATV trail. When we were at the landslide I went up and sat on a rock for a fairly long time and wrote a little bit wile the others wandered around looking mainly for rocks, I mainly just sat in the sun. I didn’t get to hot because there was a breeze where I was sitting and a river too. On our way back down Connor said that he was hot.

This is the update blog to show where the hidden deer is in the blog trail cam fun.

Today when I went to the park it was cloudy. When I was on the breakwater, I saw an eagle eating a salmon, and I saw some sea gulls and some salmon in the water. When I was at the battle site bench, it was low tide, I saw some eagles and seagulls out by the water and there were some people out there too. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw some seagulls and crows on the other side of the river and I saw some salmon in the river. When I was on my way back home I saw some ravens.

Today Grandpa and I went up gaven hill a little was to check the trail camera that I have set up there. We went up gaven hill a little ways and and grandpa was messing around with me about how far and how brushy it was. When we got to the trail camera I went and shut off the camera got the card and switched the old card for a new one. When we got back home I check the card and in on two different days deer went through there. There are two deer in this trail cam photo. Can you find the hidden deer?  I will do another post with just the top photo of the deer and show where it is hiding.

Today dad, grampa, Connor and I went up harbor mountain to pick blue berries. When we were up there Dad and grampa started picking and I just sat on the steps. When I was siting on the steps, I saw some movement in the plants and In looked closer. When I looked closer it turned out to be a vole. I told Connor about the vole wile I was trying to take some photos of it and he come over to try to take photos of it too. I moved to get a better view of the vole and it scampered into a hole. Connor and I waited for a bit before I saw it again, Connor only got a glimpse of the vole before it ran off again and I did not see it again until later and I got some photos of it that time.

Today Connor, dad and I went up to thimbleberry lake. Wile we were up there I saw lots of dragonflies. On and Connor braided some alders. On our way back we stopped to take photos of a merlin. Only dad and Connor had cameras so they were the only ones that took photos. Later on Connor let me take some photos of the merlin and some dragonflies with his camera. The merlin was catching some dragonflies wile we were watching it. We staid and watched the merlin for a wile and dad talked to some people too before we went back home.

Today I had to get up at 5:30 to get ready to go on the boat to go to kruzof with Paul and someone else along with dad and Connor. We went to a couple different places on kruzof. The fist place we went it was fogy, there were lots of shrimp in the water and I caught some of them, and I caught some other interesting fish that me and dad took photos of. There were also lots of sea slugs there. The second place we went was pretty close to where we were before, and I saw some more sea slugs and sculpins and I saw a striped crab. The last place we went There was a large cave that I took photos of and wile we were on the beach Paul gave us some bread and Nutella to eat. On the way back it started raining a little bit.

Today when I went to the park it was cloudy and vary rainy. When I was by the breakwater I saw some seagulls and salmon. When I was in the park, I heard a squirrel. When I was at the battle site bench, it was low tide and I saw some seagulls out by the water. When I was by the trail by the river, I heard some kinglets. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw some seagulls, ravens and an eagle on the other side of the river, and I saw some salmon in the river. When I was on my way back home by sage beach, I saw some people fishing on the breakwater.
