A Wild Life

Today when I went down to the park for the second time, the sun was setting and it was getting colder. When I was on the breakwater, I saw some seagulls. When I was in the park I took some photos of the sun setting. When I was done taking photos of the sun setting, I saw some varied thrushes when I was walking and decided to try and take some photos of them. While I was chasing the thrushes around, I saw a raven in a tree. All the photos I took of the thrushes were blurry so I deleted them. When I was walking back towards the battle site bench, I saw a sparrow that I didn’t know what it was, so I tried to get some photos of it. But those photos were blurry as well. I chased after the sparrow for a while, but I never got any good photos of it, and I didn’t see it that many times after I first saw it. When I started heading back home, I heard it so I looked for it some more, but I only saw a song sparrow.
Why did all my photos have to be blurry?
Why did I only see one raven?
Why dose the sun set earlier now?

Today when I was walking down to the park, it was cold and sunny. When I was on the breakwater, I saw some seagulls and ducks. When I was by sage beach, I saw lot of shorebirds on sage rock along with some seagulls. when I was at the battle site bench, it was high tide, and I saw some seagulls in the water, and I log by the shore in the water. When I was by the trail by the river, I saw some seagulls out in the water. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw some ducks on a log that was in some long yellow grass on the other side of the river. I also saw two male buffleheads and a female bufflehead in the middle of the river near where the ducks were. when I was on my way back home, I heard some kinglets and a chickadee. I also heard a red breasted sapsucker in the same trees and after I heard it I saw it too. I watched it for a bit, then I walked the rest of the way home.
Why was the sapsucker there?
Why were the sapsucker and the kinglets and the chickadees in the same trees?
Why were the shorebirds on sage rock?

Yesterday Grandpa and I went up Indian river to go deer hunting. We went in to some open timber to hunt for deer. Just after we had gotten in to the open timber I decided that I was going to find a spot and sit and wait for a little while, and Grandpa said that he would got to the dry river bed and and look for rocks. I found a spot and sat and what’d for about ten minutes  then I got up and went to find Grandpa. After I had found Grandpa we walked up through the timber some more. We had walked a bit further and has I was was coming from around a tree I saw a deer standing and looking strait at me. There was a little sitka spruce sapling in the way so I could not get a super clear shot but I was afraid that the deer was going to get away so I shot. Since it was facing me strait on I aimed for the neck I dropped the deer. It was between 75 and 100 yards away when I shot it. Grandpa and I when up to it. It was a buck not a big buck but it was still the biggest buck I had ever shot. I gutted it out and then we ate lunch. After we ate lunch I turned the deer in to a back pack and we started to pack it out. We took turns carrying the deer since the deer was a little to big for me to pack out all by my self very fast so I would take the rifle and the packs and Grandpa would take the deer for a ways then we would switch. It took us about 3 to 3 and a half hours to get the deer all the way home. It was exciting for me to get the deer.Update

This bullet was the bullet that I shot this buck with we found it while we were butchering the deer. It was lodged in part of the back strap. I saw where the bullet had hit part of the neck as well.

Today when I went down to the park for the second time, it was partly cloudy and the sun was setting. When I was by Sage beach, I saw some Seagulls on Sage rock and some other birds out in the water, I didn’t see them all that well because the sun was behind them. When I was nearing the Battle site bench, I heard some Black oystercatcher and a Winter wren. I saw the Black oystercatchers out on the beach, along with some Crows, and I saw a winter wren on the rocks at the start of the beach. The Crows were flying up and dropping somethings back onto the beach. When I was at the Battle site bench, It was almost high tide, and I saw some Crows out there too. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw some ducks. When I was nearing the end of the park it was getting harder to see in there, but it wasn’t hard to see once I got out of the trees.
Why do the clouds turn colors when the sun is setting?
Why were the crows flying up and dropping things on the beach?
Why was the winter wren on the rocks?

Today when I went down to the park, it was a little rainy. When I was on the breakwater,I saw some ducks and a seagull in the water by the science center. When I was walking by the door for the science center, I saw a rock that had Sitka Rocks! Facebook, painted on it, in among the other rocks. When I was at the battle site bench, it was low tide and I saw some seagull out by the water and some crows closer in from the water. When I was by the trail by the river, I saw some ducks and seagulls out in the water near the shore. wWen I was on the trail by the river, I saw some more ducks on the other side of the river. When I was by the foot bridge, I saw a squirrel in the trees. When I was on my way back home, I saw a ruby crowned kinglet in the salmon berry bushes in someone’s yard, on the other side of the road from sage beach. If I had had my camera, I could have gotten some photos of it, but I did not have my camera.

Why was it raining?

Today when I went down to the park the second time, it was raining hard but luckly I had my rain gear. They worked! It was also mostly dark. When I was out on the breakwater, I did not see anything. When I was by the science center, two ducks startled me as they flew up out of the water. When I was in the park, it was a little hard to see, but I could see the trail because of the little bit of light coming though the trees. When I was at the battle site bench, I sat down on the bench for a bit. While I was sitting, I saw some birds fly by and some in the water. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw a lot of ducks on the other side of the river, I was not sure if there were any other birds on the other side of the river because it was dark. While I was still on the trail by the river, I saw a lot of moths flying around the trail, I caught one but it got away. When I was on my way back home it had stopped raining.
Why is it getting darker earlier?
Why were those moths flying around the trail?
Why didn’t I see any seagulls?

Today when I went down to the park, it was raining. When I was on the breakwater, I saw some crows on the railing and some seagulls, ducks and some sort of diving bird out on the water. I also saw that someone had stuck a a fishing pole without a reel in the rocks on the crescent harbor side of the breakwater. When I was in the park it wasn’t quite as wet but still wet. When I was at the battle site bench, it was almost high tide, and I saw some seagulls by the water and some goldeneyes by the beach on the water. When I was by the trail by the river, I saw a squirrel eating a small pine cone by a tree in a drier area. I watched it run to get another small pine cone when it was done with the one it was eating and eat it where it found it on the ground. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw some ducks on the other side of the river. When I was by the foot bridge, I saw another squirrel.
Why did someone stick the fishing pole in the rocks.
Why was that one spot where I saw the squirrel drier than the rest of the park?
Why was the fishing pole missing the reel?

On November 2nd I went hunting with grandpa up by donnelly. We got up there and I was able to get six snow shoe hare on the first even. On that same evening we saw about 25 or so snow shoe hares up there. We also heard three grouse and saw one of them. The nexted day on the way up there we saw some funny looking tracks I took some photos of then we went on up the hill. I was able to get another three snow shoes before we had to head home. 

On November 4th grandpa and I went chukar hunting by bliss. We got up there just before noon so we ate our lunch as we walked to the of the canyon. When we got to the edge of the canyon we were finishing our lunch when three chukars got up and flew away but neither one of us were ready for them so we did not get shot at them. We went in to the canyon and walked a few miles and did not see a birds. When I was climbing out of the canyon I found a nice mule deer antler laying on the ground and just after I picked it up I saw a mule deer doe fun out of the canyon about 20 or 30 yards from me. After i had gotten out of the canyon I met up with grandpa and we started heading back. We had been walking and talking when for a while when about 20 or 25 chukars get up in front of us but again we were not ready for them so we were unable to get a shot off at them. After we had gotten back to the truck and started heading down the hill I saw some mule deer a little ways away from the road. I took some photos of them then we went home.           On November 5th I went hunting for pheasants and quail on the farm in the pasture while I was hunting I was going by some big trees and in one of the trees I saw a great horned owl. I did not have my camera so I went back to the house and got my camera then came back and took some photos of it. I continued hunting but did not get any thing.

2. Question why were there so many snow shoe hares?
3. Question why did we not see a few more chukars until we were heading back?

Today dad and I went to Castle hill to look for a cape may warbler and a palm warbler. It was sunny out. I went up the hill and looked around and saw and got photos of a waxwing. It was a little bit hard to get photos of it because there were some branches that my camera focused on instead of the waxwing. I also saw a junco and a song sparrow. After a while I saw a palm warbler farther down on the ground where I had come up and I got some photos of it on the ground. And a little bit after I saw the palm warbler I saw the cape may warbler and got some fairly good photos of it. After a while dad and I left and went to see if there was a snow bunting by the airport. We did not see it if it was there. After that dad went to whale fest and I when back home from there.
Why do rare birds seem to show up when Connor is gone?
Why was a waxwing there?
Why was the snow bunting not there at the airport when we looked for it?

Today when I went down to the park, was partly cloudy and wet. When I was on the breakwater, I saw some seagulls, ducks and some sort of loon farther out. When I was by sage beach, I saw some chickadees. When I was in the park, I saw a winter wren and a thrush in the bushes. When I was nearing the battle site bench, I saw a raven walking on the ground by the trail, and it flew away into the clearing on the other side of the trees. when it saw me. When I was at the battle site bench, I saw something like small truck that the park uses parked by the bench. I had seen it before in the park recently . It was also low tide and I saw some seagulls and crows. When I was by the trail by the river, I saw some seagulls. When I was on the trail by the river, I saw some seagulls and ducks on the other side of the river.
What is the truck thing called?
Why have I seen it in the park recently?
Why do the ducks always seem to be on the other side of the river.
