A Wild Life

After lunch Liz and Micheal went and took a nap. Micheal was the first to wake up from his nap. He looked out side and saw that it had snowed even more. He then went outside made a few snow angles, some snow men, then went back inside and sat by the fire and warmed up. It was about 1:30 in the afternoon before Liz woke up. She came out into the living room and asked what were they going to do for there after lunch exploration. They thought about it for a few minutes then Micheal said well theres that little door under the stairs that we haven’t looked in yet. Liz asked you mean the one that was just below the nook where you were hiding this morning? Micheal said that’s the one. Good I was wondering when we were going to look in there she said. They got up got some stuff told there parents that they would be back in a few hours, then walked to the door. They stopped at the door. Micheal asked you ready? As ready as I’ll ever be said Liz. Micheal opened the door they stepped inside the room and what they saw in there was unlike anything they had ever seen before.

They looked up and saw that there were eight old doors with some odd looking symbols on them. They walked up to the doors and looked at them. Liz said I wonder what they mean? I’m not sure but they look like they have been here for a few hundred years if you ask me said Micheal. They walked around the room and looked at the other doors. On the very last door Liz was looking at she said look this one has a symbol that looks a little like the mascot for our school. Micheal walked over there and said yeah it does doesn’t it. Liz asked I wonder where it goes? Maybe it goes to the school said Micheal. But remember we have been a trough the school found out what was behind every locked door and all the hidden rooms said Liz. Not all of them, Remember the door that was on the very lows floor Liz? Yeah kind of you mean the one that we saw in our first year? Yeah we were never able to open it before we got catch and as I recall I looked about as old as these do. Liz said your right Micheal I remember now. We happened to stumble upon it in our first day and thats what started us looking around through the school to saw what other hidden doors were in that school. Yeah and didn’t it have this kind of symbol on it? yeah it did said Micheal. Well lets see if we can open this door. Micheal pushed on the door but it would not budge. Liz looked around the room and said look theres a button on the wall with the same symbol as that door on it. She pushed it and the door swung open.

They looked down the dark tunnel. Liz looked around in her back pack and pulled out two flash lights. Handed one to Micheal he turn his on and Liz turned hers on then they walked on down the hall way. They walked down the hall looked around at the walls and saw that there were some old writing on them. Once they got to the other end they put there push on the door. The door opened up and they walked out and found them selves in the basement of there school. Liz looked around and said look. Micheal looked where she was pointing and saw that there were pick axes and shoves and big metal crowbars. Liz asked were those things here when we were down here last time? Micheal said no they weren’t. It looks like some one has been trying to get the door open. Liz said shhh you hear that? Micheal said yeah it sounds like the principle. They went back into the door and closed it. They listened and heard them enter the room. They heard the principle say we need to get this door open and fined out what is behind it as soon as possible to keep on track with our plans. The principle and the others left.  Micheal and Liz went back to the room and Liz asked what plans were they talking about? I’m not sure said Micheal but it can’t be good.

Today when I went down to the park for the first time, it was cloudy.
When I was on the breakwater, the water was murky and a greenish color.
While I was on the breakwater, I saw some sea gulls and ducks.
When I was in the park, I saw some sea gulls out on the water.
When I was at the battle site bench, it was high tide with only a small bit of beach.
At the battle site bench, there were a lot of sea gulls on the small bit of beach and in the water. There were also two male erasion wigeons, some ducks, two male pintails, some American wigeons, and some goldeneyes.
I sat on a bench and took some photos of the pintails, wigeons and sea gulls for a bit before getting up and continuing down the trail.
When I was nearing the trail by river, I saw some brown creepers on some trees.
When I was on the trail by the river, I saw one swan and some ducks.
I also heard some chickadees.
When I was on my way back home, it was starting to sprinkle.
Why were there two male erasion wigeons?
When did the other male erasion wigeon get here?
Why was the water a murky greenish color?

Today when I went down to the park for the second time, it was sunny and there were a few clouds and it was a bit breezy.
When I was out on the breakwater, I saw some sea gulls and ducks.
When I was at the battle site bench, it was low tide and I saw some sea gulls.
When I was on the trail by the clearing, I saw one of the small vehicles the park uses off to the side of the trail and some people were putting some salmon berry bushes into the thing that was attached to the back of it.
When I was near the trail by the river, I saw some sea gulls and ducks.
When I was on the trail by the river, I saw one swan and two ducks. The swan was by the rocks on the side of the river I was on, but moved away when I walked by.
When I was nearing the end of the park, I heard some chickadees and kinglets up in the trees.
When I was on my way back home not too far from the end of the park trail, I saw two red breasted sapsuckers on a telephone pole. One was up higher near the top, and the other was down lower and was pecking on something that wasn’t wood. It was pretty loud.
Why were are they trimming the stuff back there?
Why was the swan on the side of the river I was on?
Why was the sapsucker pecking on something that wasn’t wood?

Today I went down to the park and looked around. It was cloudy when I went down there. I walked down by the harbor and saw that it was high tide. I walked out onto the breakwater and watched the gulls  that were coming from the channel fly by. I walked down to the park.

Once I got down there I walked into the forest and headed for the end of the park. Once I got down there I saw a lot of the gulls that I saw flying by down at the mouth of the river. I walked along the top of the beach then into the forest and up the river. I crossed the river and walked down into the estuary and looked at the ducks that were there. I then walked down the trail on the other side and I climbed around on a rock hall so that I could get to where I could get a better look at the gulls. I got out onto the rocky point and looked through the gulls. After I was done I went up the river and watched the dipper nest to see what they were doing with it. This time they appeared to be working on the same nest. After that I went home and started lunch.

I did somethings at home before it was time to do my paper route. Once it was time to do my paper route I left. On my paper route I heard a shore bird I looked around and saw that it was a greater yellowleg. It was the first one that I have seen this year; And it was only one day later then the first greater yellowleg last year. I took some photos of then I finish my paper route.

2. Question where did that greater yellowleg come from?
3. Question how long will it stay and when will the next one show up?

Today when I went down to the park for the second time today, it was cloudy and a bit rainy.
When I was on the breakwater, I saw some sea gulls and two geese in the water.
When I was in the park, I saw a squirrel run across the trail.
When I was nearing the battle site bench, I saw some mergansers, buffleheads and sea gulls out on the beach and in the water.
When I was at the battle site bench, it was low tide, and I saw some sea gulls out by the water at the edge of the beach.
When I was by a clearing area with a totem pole in the middle of it, I saw that some small trees and some salmon berry bushes had been cut down.
When I was near the trail by the river, I saw some ducks and sea gulls.
When I was on the trail by the river, I saw a swan and a duck on the other side of the river.
When I was on my way back home on the trail/boardwalk by sage beach, I saw two squirrels, one was chasing the other across the tree branches.
Why did they cut down the small trees?
Why was there only one duck and one swan?
Why was the one squirrel chasing the other?

Today when I went down to the park, it was cloudy and windy.
When I was walking towards the harbor, I could see the dust getting blown around in the wind.
When I was at the breakwater, I saw two kingfishers, some sea gulls,some mergansers and some ducks.
When I was in the park, I saw some sea gulls flying over the beach, and I saw a squirrel with a pine cone sitting on a branch alarming.
When I was at the battle site bench, it was low tide and I saw some sea gulls out by the water.
When I was on the trail near the trail by the river, I saw some sea gulls and ducks out in the water.
When I was on the trail by the river, I saw a swan on the other side of the river. I also saw what I think was a spine in the bushes. It was sort of orange colored.
When I was on my way back home, I saw some more sea gulls and I heard and saw some eagles.
Why was there only one swan?
What did the spine belong to?
How long had the spine been there?

This morning when I was on my way to dad’s place I walked underneath a road bridge to check to see if the dippers were were working on a nest. I watched the dippers nest under that bridge for the past two or three years. I sat down on a rock and watched the nests for a little while. I watched two dippers caring up nesting materials, but the funny thing was that they cared the nesting materials to two different nests. As I was watching the dippers work on the nests I noticed that there was a kingfisher sitting on a rock in the river. I then watched it fly down to another rock. It looked to me like it might have had a nest in the river bank some where along there, but it was getting late and I had not gotten to dad’s yet so I left and went to dad’s.

Once I got there I left for the park.

I walked down along the harbor felt the wind in my face. I walked out on the breakwater and looked at the water and birds that were out there.

I walked down to the entrance of the park and walked into the forest. I walked out onto the beach and walked along the top of the beach then back into the forest once I got to the river. I walked up along the river and stopped about where the kingfisher had been hanging out earlier that day. Just as I stopped to looked across the river to see if they were there. I saw one kingfisher fly out of a hole in  the bank and another one fly off a stump that near by. After I crossed the river I walked down along the bank and saw that there were two holes along the bank. I went back across the river and looked around while I was waiting for the kingfishers to come back. After a while one did come back but it was the male and I did not see it go into the hole. It was getting later so I got up and started heading back to the house. On my way back I saw a wren getting nesting materials. I saw where it flew and followed it. It flew to a big tree stump that had fallen over. I walked around the back of it and as I did the wren flew out of a hole. I looked by where it flew out from and found the nest. I went a little ways back and watched the nest for a few minutes but I did not see the wren come back so I left.

1. Question are the kingfishers going to nest along this part of the river this year?
2. Question is the wren going to use the nest this year?
3. Question which nest are the dippers going to use?

I started it a few days ago. Not certain if I’ll finish it.
It took me a few minutes to get the basic outline done. Since then I’ve done some erasing and adding some other things.
I put some of it in pen, but I haven’t made all of it in pen yet because I’m not sure if I want to change any of it yet or keep it that way and then add color.
I haven’t really done much with it since I first started it.
I’m not sure what colors I’d use to color it, maybe blue or purple.
I don’t have a name for it yet, but it lives in a mysterious forest and glows bit.
In the drawing it’s carrying a lantern and there are little flames around it.
The flames would be blue colored.
The arm and the horns are sort of see through.
I’m not sure if I’ll add hind legs.
Also, it floats in the air. Basically it flies.
And it’s got a flame on it’s tail though it might be a little hard to see in the drawing.
Will I end up finishing it?
What color should the lantern be?
Will I end up changing some things?

This morning I woke up early. I got up went out side went for a swim in the snow drift out side my window. I came in sat by the fire and warmed up for a bit, read the paper and ate breakfast. Once it around 7am and no one else was up I went down into my room looked through my closet for a big air horn. Once I found the big air horn I went and found a hiding spot in the house. Once I found a good hiding spot where I hoped no one would be able to find me, I plugged my ears and pressed the green button and the horn (as loud as a ships horn) went off. A minute later I heard the sound of things breaking and the unmistakable sound of my sister being rudely awaken. She came stomping up the stairs yelling CONNOR! HOW DARE YOU DO THAT WHEN I FIND YOU YOU WILL BE IN BIG TROUBLE! While she was stomping around the house making the hole house rattle, I was up in my little hiding spot trying to suppress the giggles and keep from being found. I sat there looking through my little peep hole and when I watched her walk into the next room I climbed down. Just as I got to the floor I heard Rowan roar THERE YOU ARE! She and I looked eye and eye for a few brief moments before I took off scurrying down the hall. I took a corner and slipped I slid half way across the room.

I hurried back to my feet just as she came flying into the room. I dodged her flying leap. I hurried into the next room while she got back on her feet. The next room I went into was a room full of mirrors. I carefully made my way through the maze of mirrors. Just as I was getting about half way through the maze Rowan entered the room and started making her way through the maze; But as we got further and further into the maze I became less and less sure of which was the real Rowan and which was a reflection. After about a half an hour in the maze I finally made it out. I scurried out of that room and into the next one because I knew Rowan would not be far behind.

I went into the next room which was had an opstical course in it. I ran jumped off a mini trampoline and grabbed a hanging rope just as Rowan came running into the room. I started climbing the rope while Rowan ran over to another mini trampoline and jumped and grabbed onto swinging monkey bars. I climbed to the top of the rope and started walking along a tight rope that was about 20 feet off the floor. As I walked down the rope Rowan kept pace with me on the monkey bars. Once she got to the end of the monkey bars she went onto a balance beam which went over a big swimming pool. Once we got to the end of tight rope and the balance beam we came down on either side of a training course. We each grabbed a paint ball gun a bunch of paint balls and safety gear then started our why across the training course. We had to hit targets dodge swinging logs not to mention dodge the paint balls that the other person was shooting at you when they weren’t dodging logs or shooting target them selves. Once I got to the other side I went through the door and ran into the next room.

The next room was a sparing room. The only things that were in there were mattes. Rowan came in a few seconds later. We looked at each other for a few moments before she came at me and we started resoling and doing a bit of sparring. Once we were done and all tired out Rowan said you don’t need to set off the horn every morning when we run through these rooms and do the courses that are in them. I said I know, it’s more fun to start the morning off was a bang or a horn in this case though, we laughed. A few minutes later the door opened and dad said good I’m glad you two are done because it’s time to eat lunch. Rowan said good because I’m starving. That’s right you didn’t eat breakfast did you. No I didn’t because some one woke me up by using an air horn, we laughed. Then went and had lunch.

Yesterday I got up and looked out the window got ready and walked up stairs into the kitchen ate breakfast then I went up the stairs and got on the computer and looked at a few things then went down to the park to look around.

On my way down to the park I walked along the harbor. I saw that the tide was pretty low. I walked own and onto the beach by sage rock. I walked along the shore line and looked at the things that were there. While I was down there I notedness that there was a couple of humpbacked whales out; So I stood there and watched them for a bit. I saw the lung feed several times but was never able to get a very good photo of them doing it. After I had watched them for a while I walked on down the beach.

I worked my way down to the end of the park. Once I got down there I started looking through the flocks of gulls that were down there. As I looked through the gulls I saw a pretty white gull that was not a glaucous gull. I took some photos of it then it flew way. I walked around looking at the rest of the gulls then I walked back up by where the one gull had been and I saw that the gull was back in the same area; So I took some more photos of it then headed up into the forest. I walked up along the river looked at the birds up there then I walked home.

Once I got home I did some stuff in my room and on the computer until it was time to do the paper route. After my paper route I went home and made dinner then went to bed.

This morning I got up got ready went into the kitchen and ate breakfast then went up stairs did stuff on the computer. I then went down to the park.

The weather was not as nice as it had been the last few times I went down there. I walked down along the harbor. Then I walked down to the beach and looked at the sea life that was down there. I worked my way out tot eh end of the park looked around out there then I headed home. Once I got home I did a few thing then I went on my paper route after my paper route I started doing this blog.
