The next morning while they were eating breakfast Micheal and Liz quietly discussed what they had and seen the day before. Once they were done eating there breakfast they got ready and headed for school.
Liz was a year younger then Micheal so they had to go to different classes. Liz and Micheal were walking down the hall to their classes discussing what they had seen and heard the day before when someone said, “Hi Micheal, hi Liz.” They both spun around to see their two best friends Lily and Arild were walking up behind them. Lily was a girl with long blond hair blue eyes and a nice warming smile.
Arild was a tall buff looking boy with brown hair and hazelnut eye. “Hi Lily, Hi Arild.”
“Have you guys found any new passages through that house of yours Micheal?”
“That was actually what Liz and I were both discussing Lily”.
“Really so you two found a new passageway?”
“It wasn’t so much a passageway as it was an old, old room Arild.”
The bell rang so Lily and Micheal said good by to Liz and Arild as they went their separate ways. Since Lily and Micheal were in the same year and had the same classes as each other they walked together down to their class room.
“So Micheal can you tell me about the new room that you and Liz found yesterday?”
“Not now Lily, I don’t feel safe talking about it here right now.”
“Why Micheal?”
“Because Liz and I did not just find any old room, it looked like it was a special room, and it’s not just what we saw but we heard someone had a plan and it did not sound good.”
“I will tell you and Arild today when we meet in the library after class” He said in a low whisper.
“Oh, okay” Lily said with the sound of defeat.
When the final bell of the day rang Lily and Micheal went to the library to find that Liz and Arild were already there working on a history assignment together. Micheal and Lily pulled up chairs to the table and pulled out some of there science homework.
“So what was this room like Micheal.”
“It looked very old maybe a couple hundred years old. There were eight doors in the room, all of them had different symbols on them.”
“And one of the doors had the symbol of our mascot on it” whispered Micheal.
“And the door with our mascot on it went right under our school” whispered Liz.
“Liz and I went down the passageway and we came out under the school. And that’s not the only thing. While we were down there we heard principle Sparten saying that they had to get that door open
soon so they could stay on track with their plan.”
“Micheal what kind of symbols were on the doors?”
“Well I’m not sure what all of them were but there was one with what looked like a waterfall on it.”
“That might be the waterfall of time?” muttered Lily.
“There was a door with what looked like sand dunes and a scorpion.”
“ Sounds like the ancient scorpion of the desert.”
“ There was what looked like a bamboo forest with a panda.”
“And then the last one that I recognized was what looked like a pine forest with an owl.”
“The wise owl?”muttered Lily.
“What is it Lily?”
“I think I know what you found. I’ll be right back.” Lily hurried off to the book shelves. She was back a few minutes later with a big old looking book. She set it down on the table.
The Story Of Old Magic was the title of the book.
“What book is this Lily?”
“I thought it was just some fiction book. I had checked it out a few weeks ago to read, but it sounds like it might not be fiction after all.” She flipped through the pages of the book until she found a page in the book with a drawing of four people. One had a sword, one had a bow, one had an ax, and the last one had a boomerang. All four were in some kind of magical armor.
“It says here that there is a big evil demon snake that lives at the very center of our earth. It was last sealed about two hundred years ago. By the four weapons that those people are holding” said Lily. “But I thought that that was an old fiction book and that that stuff was not real.”
“We did to Arild but it would seem that that is not the case at all.”
“So do you think that principle Sparten knows about all that stuff Micheal?”
“I would say that it’s probable a safe bet to say that he does Lily.”
“Why don’t you two come over later, and we can go down and look around at that place together.”
“I’d like to Micheal. I’ll bring this book and maybe we will be able to find some more things out about that place.”
“Okay Lily, I’ll see you later. Arild, what about you?”
“Of course I’ll come!”
“Alright then, Liz and I’ll see you two later. How about 5:30 this evening?”
“Sounds good well see then. By Liz, by Micheal.” Lily and Arild said in unison.
Micheal was sitting on a couch in the living room when the doorbell rang. “I’m coming! Hi Lily, Come in.”
“Thanks Micheal.”
“Liz is upstairs doing something in her room, I can see if she’d like come down here if you want?”
“No I’m fine, in fact I was hoping that I could talk to you alone about something.”
“Okay, come over here and sit down. What is it, you look a little worried.”
“It’s just that I read that book a little more, and it would appear that not everyone can get into the room. They have to be descendant from the people who sealed away the snake the last time.”
“So what are you saying Lily?”
“I’m saying that Arild and I might not be able to see the room let alone get in.”
“Well I guess we won’t know until we try now will we.”
“Hi Lily, I heard Micheal answer the door so I decided that I would come up here and see who it was.”
Ding dong.
“Come in…Hi Arild.”
“Hi Micheal”
“Shall we go then Micheal?”
“Sure since everyone is here.”
They walked over to the door. Micheal opened the door Liz walked in first and Micheal followed Lily in.
Micheal shut the door behind them. He turned around and saw that Arild and Lily were both walking around the room looking at the walls and the doors. Micheal walked over to Lily. “See Lily you had nothing to worry about.”
“Yeah I suppose your right Micheal.”
