I saw a mourning Cloak butterfly at the farm on Saturday I saw it flying and saw where it landed so I snuck up on it and I got a photo of it.

Beautiful butterfly and great photo, Connor! I love you. mom.
They look kind of like the kind that we see in Sitka sometimes that I have heard called Mourning Cloak. Do you think they’re the same thing with different names?
Mom,
thank you I took like 12 more photo
I love you too.
dad,
we looked it up and found this:
People commonly call the mourning cloak a morning cloak butterfly because that name sounds like a good fit. The correct name, however, is mourning cloak.
thank you.
Is the Mourning Cloak the same or different than the butterfly you took the picture of?
