This morning I got up an walked down to the lake. I got down there and saw that there were some ducks and geese on the peninsula but no swallows. I walked out and sat down on a bench as the warm wind blow against my face. I sat there and after a while I saw a few Tree swallows darting around and the mother duck and her ducklings. After about a half hour of waiting I headed back home got ready and went down to get some seaweed. I took my bike trailer and walked down to the beach. I rolled the trailer down the stairs and onto the beach. I walked down to the seaweed and set the trailer down. I got several close to armfuls of the damp slimy seaweed and up it in the trailer. When I decided that the was enough seaweed I took the trail back to the top of the beach and drug it back up the stairs to the road. I walked home with it. Once I got home I dropped it off and changed then I went back to the lake. I sat down on a bench again for a bit. While I was there I heard first Swainson’s thrush of the year. I walked over and found it across the road but I was unable to get any photos of it. After I was done looking for the thrush I walked back across the road and decided that I would look around in the grass at the edge of the lake. I walked into the grass and hunched down in anticipation to see what was there. I saw a couple of slugs and a few flowers. After I had looked around in the grass for a bit I got up and headed home.
