Yesterday afternoon I was heading out to check the mail. On my way out to the mailbox I looked up and saw a raptor with a white belly and underwing coverts. I realized that it was a Osprey so I turn around and went charging into the house to get my camera. I came back out and got a few photos of it then I went charging back into the house to tell dad. I ran up the stairs and told him that there was an Osprey soaring over the house. I went back outside to take more photos of it and he came out too. By the time we got out there the Osprey had stopped soaring and was now flying north.
It was the first Osprey I have seen and gotten photos of in Alaska!
