I went and did my paper route yesterday. Dearing my paper route I saw a wilson snipe in a road ditch. I took some photos of it then I finish my paper route and went home.
This morning I went down to the beach, then I hurried home to get some of my fishing stuff, because the tide looked good to fish for dollies. I got back down there and went onto sage rock. I got ready and on my first cast I had a dolly varden. I had caught on more a little later, but I had quite a few strikes. I went home and cleaned them then went inside and made lunch. The biggest dolly I caught today was 18 inches and the other one was 14 inches, and each of them had at least 20 salmon fry apiece in their stummicks.
Went went down to the park later and looked around. I walked down to the end of the park and looked at the gulls out there. I saw a slaty backed gull in the big flock of gulls, along with an iceland gull (they are talking about making iceland and thayer’s gull one species). As I walked around the end of the park I saw a couple of bonaparte’s gulls and a couple dunlins to name a few. Once I was done down there I went home and did a few things then I did my paper route, and came home once I was done.
- Question will I catch any dollies tomorrow if I go fishing?
- Question when will more of the migratory shorebirds show up?
- Question when will the chickadees start laying their eggs? Wilson Snipe Chickadee nest inside my nest box
