This morning I slept in, so I did not eat breakfast, so after I got up out of bed I went down to the park to see what was down there. The tide was high when I got down there, and it was also cloudy.
I looked around in front of the visitor center for a bit. I found a few new things for my species list, but nothing really exciting.
I then walked down to the end of the park to see what was down there. I was very windy out there, and it started to rain while I was out there. I found a few land snails, and a few new plants for the year.
I then walked up to the estuary, and looked around. I saw that the male eurasian wigeon was still there, and I also saw there were a bunch of duck up there. most of them looked like mallards, but I did not look all that hard.
After I had gotten done there I went, and wondered around in the forest, and found a raven skeleton. I found a few new species there as well.
After I was done there I went home, and had some lunch.
Then I went up to the cross trail on gavan hill. Once I got to the trail head, and had walked up the trail a little ways I heard some bird that sounded sort of formilleer. I looked around, and I saw that what I was hearing were pine grosbeaks. They landed in a tree, so I ran down the trail to the trail head, so that I was a bit closer to them. Then I took some photos of them then texted dad. I took some more pictures while I waited for him, but by the time he got there they had flown away.
After that I went up the trail, and walked the cross trail to the high school. I did not see anything really all that interesting, but it was a nice walk.
After I had gotten to the high school I walked home by the lake.
- Question why was it, so windy out?
- Question when will it be windy again?
