What happens to the fish when there are lots of leaves on the bars? Do people at the hatchery have to rake the leaves off the bars?

    Hi Connor,

Our maple leaves have mostly fallen already here in Port Townsend, the Pacific Willow is still hanging on, but we are expecting a big wind storm today so those might come down soon. Do you have maples where you are? Have the leaves fallen there?

    Hi Connor,

My name is Stan and I live in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. I came across you beautiful blog and like it a lot.
I am practicing your knot and am sure it will come in handy soon. I live next to a river and perhaps I will make a raft as well and use your knots. The river in front of my cabin eventually ends in the Gulf of Mexico. It is a long long journey for the water to get there. Maybe you can look me up on the map and find where I live. I hear that Sitka is a very beautiful place to live and right next to the ocean. So the rain water does not have to travel as far to the sea as the rain drops that fall here in the Smoky Mountains. I was born in The Netherlands. This is a small country in Euorpe. It is also located next to the sea, just like Alaska.
Is the fall coming to an end in Alaska? I hear Sitka doesn’t get much snow in the winter is that true? – Stan
