Today dad,Rowan, and I went down the old airport road in search of a mountain bluebird. Cause the day before dad got a meassge of a odd looking bird. The person that reported it said that it had a gray body with a blue rump, so dad, and I after frisbee yesterday went to see if we could find this odd looking bird, but we were unable to find it, so today we went back out there to see if it was still there since we did not see it yesterday. We had walked for almost four mile before we finaly found it. It was exciting to see such a rare bird.

Sounds like a good find! How rare is it?
Uncle Jonathan
there has only been like 4 to 5 records of it in sitka ever and it was the first one in winter.
When were the other times it was seen in Sitka? Where is its main home territory?
