Caterpillar

MonarchToday I saw two monarch butterflies on milkweed flowers. I had to wait for the monarch butterflies to come to the milkweed flowers because when I tried to chase them they wouldn’t land. Earlier that week I saw ten or eleven caterpillars. The week before I saw the egg. I also saw bees and beetles on the milkweed plants. The milkweed flowers look like stars with a pink color.

Holy Monarchs! excellent job, Rowan, on capturing photos of each stage of their lives. is it possible that the egg you saw earlier could have turned into one the caterpillars you saw later, and then one of the caterpillars turned into one of the monarchs you saw? I’m just curious cause I don’t know how quickly they morph. Milkweed flowers get a lot of attention/customers! Have you seen a ladybug yet?
    love, mommy
