I took a hike up Indian River Valley to visit the big tree waterfalls and see what they looked like frozen.
I hiked up to the first bridge on Indian River Trail today. I wanted to check out the confluence of the West and Falls forks of Indian River. As I suspected, the Falls Fork was largely frozen, while the West Fork was running ice free.
I spent nearly four hours at Swan Lake today, first with Rowan, then Connor and Melissa showed up as well.

The lake was mostly frozen, so quite a few birds were close to the penninsula in one of the patches of open water. I took advantage of their limited room to roam and got some photos.
