This spring it was hard to miss all the geese in Sitka as they flew honking overhead or fed and rested on lawns and beaches. It was the first day of the Great Backyard Bird Count, so I tried to get out a fair bit to look for birds, including a stop at Swan Lake and a walk around Totem Park.
The lake was mostly frozen, so quite a few birds were close to the penninsula in one of the patches of open water. I took advantage of their limited room to roam and got some photos.
