Marge Ward told me she saw a Golden Eagle at the park this morning, so I braved the rain to see if it was still around. I just found a young juvenile Bald Eagle. There were Pholiota mushrooms in abundance on a fallen alder where I had seen them a couple of years ago (prior to it falling).

Swan Lake and Colorful Sunset
I took some pictures of a young Hooded Merganser and a Green-winged Teal on a sunny day at Swan Lake. The sunset was also quite colorful.
Pink and Purple Sky
The sky turned pink and purple as the sun was setting this evening. This picture was taken from the south deck of the house.
Painted Lady
Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui) found visiting a neighbor’s flower garden. Due to the fact that these are sometimes purchased and reared, then released, it’s not clear whether this particular individual was naturally occurring or not.
Shorebirds from Above
On my way to UAS this afternoon I had a different perspective on shorebirds when I noticed a small flock on the rocks below O’Connell bridge.
Connor and Rowan’s Cohos
Connor and Rowan brought back a couple of silver salmon from fishing down by the Sheldon Jackson hatchery.
