On a Lifelong Journey to Learn my Place
I was up and about early enough to catch sunrise at Crescent Harbor (much easier this time of year). Although it wasn’t really cloudy, the pink in the sky seemed particularly intense. Later in the day Connor, Rowan, and I spent some time at Halibut Point Rec.
The cloud formations caught my eye today. They weren’t especially dramatic, but I did enjoy looking at them. I’m not sure what kind they were, perhaps alto stratus breaking into alto cumulus? Maybe it’s time to learn my cloud types better.
For our outing today, we went around Mosquito Cove Trail (counter clockwise direction) and then did the Estuary Life Trail loop. On the way back into town, Rowan pointed out an interesting looking cloud formation and while stopped at SeaMart parking lot to look at those, we were able to observe a Horned Grebe closer … Read more
With heavy rain falling overnight and throughout today, I thought it would be interesting to check out different places around town. In addition to all the photos, I also shot a brief video of Indian River from just below the Sawmill Creek Road bridge.
We got up to fairly heavy snow showers, but Connor, Rowan, and I went on a couple of hikes anyway. All the pictures are from those trips. Read more about the outings at my trails blog.
