Today I saw my first crocus of the year – a fairly early one that is likely to get hit by subsequent cold weather. This evening I got to see and photograph a sun pillar – a first for me.

Today I saw my first crocus of the year – a fairly early one that is likely to get hit by subsequent cold weather. This evening I got to see and photograph a sun pillar – a first for me.
It was a very nice sunset this evening. I’m not sure Lincoln Street was the necessarily the best place to catch the best of it, but I certainly enjoyed what I saw.
Once again I headed up Verstovia for my Christmas Bird Count route. Snowy conditions and lack of motivation saw me turn at Picnic Rock rather than make my way down into Indian River Valley as I have done in some past years.
