Overcast to partly sunny in Seattle.
Today was our flight home, but not until this evening.
Rowan had one other place she wanted to visit, but we didn’t go there until the afternoon.
While on calls this morning, I spent time out in my brother’s yard making some observations.
I noticed some of the manzanita (or madrone) tree leaves had leafminers in them. I suspect they were all the same, but the way the mines looked was different enough that I was not sure.

On our return from the University District where we ate lunch and visited a shop Rowan likes, we ran into heavier traffic. Fortunately it kept moving, but my brother decided to take the West Seattle Bridge.
Crossing the bridge we had a view of two container ships. I could tell they were large, but from a distance it’s hard to really have a feel for just how big. Looking it up on the internet later, I one of them is 1200 feet long and 157 feet wide.
I spent most of the afternoon napping (maybe recovering from the effects of travel or from eating too much – perhaps both). Light was fading as we drove to the airport.
Our flight back was a little bumpy between Seattle and Juneau, mostly during the first half of the flight.
We made it back to Sitka a little early. Temperatures were noticeably cooler than in Seattle. The ground was wet. Fortunately the rain had stopped, and we didn’t get wet on the walk to the far long term parking lot where I left the car on Wednesday.
