Christmas Visit to the Estuary

Overcast with occasional light rain. Windy, especially early. Temperatures in the lower 40s.

With Christmas activities taking up much of the day, I didn’t spend much time outside today.

I drove out to Starrigavan and walked through a small section of the upper part of the estuary. I was curious if I would see the Swamp Sparrow. I didn’t, but later Connor told me he had (I think he was there earlier).

I documented two mosses, a fungus, a liverwort, and a lichen during my time there. All familiar species.

I stopped briefly at Sea Mart parking lot to get a picture of Mount Edgecumbe. The snow level has dropped down to near tree line.
