Overcast and windy. Temperatures in the 40s. The rain mostly held off.
It was a long day for me. I was out at Sawmill Cove for observing at 8am. It didn’t take the long to get the first piling driven, and then they needed to splice on another section, so we had an extended break.
The break allowed me to run into town, get some lunch, and take care of a time sensitive errand I had forgotten about. While at the airport (to move a car), I noticed the north side of Mt. Edgecumbe had less snow than the south side. Usually it would be the other way around (south side gets more sun), but in this case I suspect the wind was responsible.
We were back observing early in the afternoon. They were able to get the two pilings complete driven, which meant they won’t be pile driving again before they leave for a holiday break.
It was not the end of observing for me, however. They were doing fill work this evening, so I came back and spent much of the evening watching.
Before that I spent a few minutes playing catch at Moller Park. Some folks are back for Christmas, and I got the field reserved. The weather was much nicer than I expected, with winds not too bad, temperatures mild, and no rain. I was a little disappointed to miss playing, but I needed to get out the road.
My brother also flew in on the evening flight. Since I was at work, Connor picked him up.
