Mostly sunny. Temperatures in the 40s during the day. Dropping into the 30s this evening after the sun set. Light winds.
I had calls this morning, but did them from my car. I wanted to watch at Pioneer Park in hopes of catching a Townsend’s Solitaire. No luck today.
I also spent time watching at the airport, the channel, and Swan Lake. I didn’t see anything unexpected. Very little ice is left on the lake.
After lunch I walked downtown and then along the sea walk.
There was a misty quality to the air over the water, which made for some nice layering of the islands into the distance.
A crow swooping down drew my attention to a Sharp-shinned Hawk on the breakwater. Moments later a whole flock of crows was mobbing the hawk. It flew over to trees along Lincoln Street.
The crows were still in the trees when I went over that way a few minutes later. I don’t know if the hawk was tucked away in the trees. If it was, the crows weren’t pestering it, but they also weren’t leaving the tree.
