Generally overcast with rain, though there were very occasional minor breaks that allowed some sun through. Temperatures into the upper 30s. Calm winds.
With a day off, I did not accomplish quite as much today as I might have hoped. I did mostly catch up on the observing admin that I had fallen behind on the past two days.
This afternoon I drove out the road. I stopped at Starrigavan and took pictures of the swans in the river. I didn’t see a Tundra Swan among them.
Two male Common Goldeneye in the channel caught my attention as well. I had only seen one the last time I looked.
At Sawmill Cove they were welding the third of four pilings. They hope to do the final driving of all four tomorrow. If they are successful, they’ll have some finishing work to do and then will move on to the next set of four (there will be five sets of four plus I think four other separate support pilings).
