Group Forest Walk

Partly to mostly cloudy, with overnight lows near freezing rising to the 40s during the day. Calm winds.

Feather Frost

My dad was heading south on the late morning flight, so we were going to eat breakfast at the airport. When I went out shortly before 9am, I saw I had to scrape my car windows. It’s maybe only the second time this fall. We haven’t had many clear nights.

I met up with folks at Indian River at 10am for a forest walk. We shuttled over to the Pherson Street trailhead and walked back to Indian River.

There was a good group for the walk, and the weather was pleasant. (As often happens when there are more people around, I didn’t take many pictures.)

I had a lunch meeting with the person I’ve been coordinating with for the haulout project.

After lunch, I drove out to Starrigavan. A pair of swans with to young were in Starrigavan Creek. The young birds looked distinctly smaller than the adults. I don’t remember noticing such a difference before.

I was feeling tired, so took an extended nap this afternoon.

This evening was the Seabank Summit. It went longer than I was expecting, but was good food and some interesting presentations.
