Heavy clouds and periods of rain. Temperatures in the 40s. Breezy.
Connor needed a ride around midday. Given the rain and feeling tired/off, I didn’t expect to head out again. After dropping him off, I checked a near the turnaround and the channel for birds, and to get my observations for the day.
There were gulls near the turnaround and out from the Ace Hardware parking lot. I didn’t see the group of Buffleheads I had seen recently. I think they must have moved out to the middle of the channel, since I saw 10 or so there.
While I was watching the channel, I noticed three Long-tailed Ducks do flybys. I think perhaps there are still too many gulls for them to get comfortable settling in.
