Rain and wind, temperatures in the 40s.
Today’s outside time was fairly limited. Heavy rain and general tiredness left me feeling not especially motivated.
I did spend a few minutes on the south deck late this morning, then went for a drive this afternoon.
For some reason the juncos weren’t in the yard or at the feeder the times I looked out. It looks like there is still food in the bird feeder, but it may be mostly just the remains of millet shells, I’m not sure.

Other than wind and rain, I didn’t see much on my drive. One notable observation was the first Long-tailed Ducks I’ve seen this fall. We’ll see if these stick around, or if it’s a little while yet before the wintering birds show up for the season.
Connor has been sick this week. Symptoms started on Monday, though he didn’t think he was getting sick. Had I given more consideration to that possibility, I probably wouldn’t have spent the time in the truck going out to Herring Cove. Today I’m feeling just a little off. It could be I’m just tired, or the start of coming down with something. I’m hoping tomorrow I’ll feel fine.
