The July 28th show featured a conversation with Charlotte Lindqvist, of the University at Buffalo. We spoke about the project which brought her to Sitka to do some field work. She shared how advances in the ability to extract and analyze environmental DNA should help to better understand how the flora of the area changed in the millennia after the last ice age. She also shared about previous work analyzing DNA from ancient bones found in caves in Southeast Alaska.
