Sitka Nature Show #319 – Jason Briner

Download Radio Show

The July 14th show featured a conversation with Jason Briner of the University at Buffalo. Jason shared results from past work he and others have done in Southeast Alaska to better understand the extent of ice during the last glacial maximum and the timing of its retreat. We also spoke about a new project that brought him and colleagues back to Sitka this summer to take cores from lakes and use material gathered to better understand the post vegetation and climate of the area over the past few thousand years.

If you have questions or observations you want to share, please feel free to leave a comment here or on the page I’ve set up for that purpose.
