An early September day that started with an unexpectedly early morning, many birds calling in the yard, my first Gray Catbird at first light, around the airport I saw the most impressive influx of sparrows I have observed, the largest flock of Vaux’s Swifts yet reported for Sitka, Peregrine Falcon flyovers, and migrating Osprey.

Rain showers this morning (some were quite heavy), clouds breaking up later in the morning, some sun shone through.
