I was a little surprised this morning to see there had been a bit of snow (or possibly hail – a couple of the squalls that went by were intense) accumulation last night – not a lot, but enough to make slush on the streets.
Throughout the day it was the wintry mix that sometimes is forecast, with temperatures in the low to mid-30s, and precipitation having a hard time deciding whether to be snow or rain.
I got a text about Pine Grosbeaks on Halibut Point Road, but didn’t end up having enough time to go look for them before I needed to be on a call.
Later this evening stars were out. Although the air temperature was still in the mid-30s, there was some ice on my windshield, and it looked like some might have been forming on the ground as well.
