The September 29th show featured a conversation with Gwen Baluss first aired in 2017. We spoke about the bird banding project that’s been on-going since Gwen first banded birds for it in late 2012. This is the time of year when juncos return to Sitka neighborhoods. If you are seeing any banded birds, we would be interested to hear about them. It’s even better if you can let us know what colors the bands are on each leg (one of them will always be aluminum). Pictures can be helpful with this process, as sometimes it’s hard to get a good look when the birds are active.
