The August 4th show featured a conversation with Jason Briner and Caleb Walcott. Jason is the director of the Glacier History Lab at the University at Buffalo, New York. He, along with Caleb, a Master’s student in the lab, were in town to do some sampling work related to a project looking at the timing of glacial retreat across Southeast Alaska after the last ice age. We discussed the type work they’re doing here and elsewhere, some of the techniques used, and what questions they’re investigating about glacial history in this area.
