The April 28th show featured a conversation with Andrós López, curator of the Aquatics collection at the Museum of the North. He was in town as part of the Scientist in Residency Fellowship program at the Sitka Sound Science Center.
We spoke about how specimens in the collection he curates are preserved, and some of the challenges associated with preserving some of the larger organisms. We also discussed distribution of fish in the north, some of the factors that influence that distribution, and how modern genetic tools are beginning to help us answer questions in this area.
If you have questions or observations you want to share, please feel free to leave a comment here or on the page I’ve set up for that purpose.
