I wanted to go out to Halibut Point Rec to check on some sea grass I had previously assumed was eel grass, and Connor came along.
I ended up getting a call on the way out, and the tide was up too far, so I sat on the beach and had my conversation while Connor poked around looking at things.
Connor ended up finding a caterpillar and a syrphid larva (among other things), which he showed me. I was a little surprised to see a syrphid larva just hanging out on the bark of a shore-side spruce tree, but that’s what it seemed to be doing.
