Four folks (Brad, Pat, Bob, and Eric) from Anchorage came to town to see the Tropical Kingbird. They found it successfully this morning, and I ended up running in to them at Swan Lake when they stopped by to see the Wood Duck (which one of the four had not yet seen in Alaska). From there I took them by the Evans residence on Etolin Street so they could see the Anna’s Hummingbirds that frequent there. While watching for the hummingbirds, a White-throated Sparrow flew into the yard and cooperated nicely for photos while it foraged in the grass below a shrub. We stopped by the Channel and finally out at Starrigavan, but did not find anything unusual before it was time for them to head over to the airport to catch a flight back to Anchorage.
