I haven’t had a lot of time to spend outside the last couple of days, but fortunately the weather hasn’t been too inspiring. Clouds came over and we got a little rain yesterday, but it didn’t really start coming down until today. Along with the rain, the wind picked up a bit as well.
I had been wondering if the Song Sparrow that was singing in the yard left, but I’ve heard one the last couple of days. It seems to be a bit further off, so I’m not sure if it’s the same one that has moved a little further south, and is not singing so much right along the fence, or if I’m hearing one from a different territory. It would probably be worth spending some time and trying to figure out where the Song Sparrow territories are that overlap or are adjacent to my yard (as so far, my yard doesn’t seem to be a core part of any one bird’s territory).
Yesterday there were bunches of gulls in the channel. I did not have a lot of time to scan through them thoroughly, but I did take a little while to see if anything stuck out. All I noticed was all the usual suspects, though.
