Connor, Rowan and I took advantage of a nice sunny day to go for a walk around Starrigavan to see what birds might be around, then stopped where the Northern Mockingbird has been hanging out and were successful in finding it. The estuary at Starrigavan was fairly quiet, with some Song Sparrows and Pacific Wrens making themselves known by call notes and/or minor alarms. I did pish up a male Red-winged Blackbird which was a bit of a surprise. Connor and Rowan went out in the grass/sedge flats to try and get a better look, and while out there reported seeing some birds they didn’t recognize fly up and away.
