Swan Lake Observations

I opted to stay home and try to catch up on collections and photos rather than head down to the park during my limited time. I did stop at Swan Lake for a little while this afternoon. The 30+ Greater White-fronted Geese are still there. Having cropped down the grass and sedges they can reach from shore, they’ve started working on some of the emergent sedges as well, especially when someone is on the peninsula. The dowitcher was still present as well, and I took a little time to photograph it. Also of note were a couple of pond-lily flowers showing yellow on the surface of the lake.
