I heard about a Black-headed Grosbeak visiting a feeder a couple of days ago. I was able to get out there this afternoon with Connor, and after an hour or so of waiting in the rain, we were rewarded by the arrival of the bird to the feeder. By that time we didn’t have too much time left before we needed to leave, but we did watch it come and go between the feeder and a nearby patch of salmonberry bushes.
My thanks to Cliff for letting me know about the odd bird visiting his feeder and the allowing us to hang out in his driveway to watch for it!
