The Pied-billed Grebe has returned to Swan Lake. This evening I took a walk down to Totem Park.

20110505_RBSA_Lincoln_Street_Drumming.mp3 Been pretty swamped with work and house issues, but have made a little time to go look for spring migrants. This morning on the way back from Totem Park (where there are still lots of shorebirds) I recorded this short clip of a Red-breasted Sapsucker drumming on a metal roof.
As I write this (December 2011) I don’t remember where these photos were taken. I think they were probably at Halibut Point Rec, though I have no other record from that visit.
As best I can tell, these tracks are from a squirrel bounding across the sand.
