Daily Observations

American Robin

I braved another cold, clear day to look for Redpolls on Alice Island. On the way over it was chilly, but what I didn’t realize was that the trip over was mostly with the wind. That realization was made clear on the rather uncomfortable scooter ride back an hour or so later.

Weather: There was a light breeze out of the East or Southeast. It was not strong, but it definitely made it seem colder when facing into it.

Birds: This weather can’t be making things too easy for the birds.

I did find the Common Redpolls on Alice Island as well as several Song Sparrows all eating alder seeds.

There was one robin on campus this afternoon. I also observed several chickadees near feeders on Jeff Davis street.
