There were many flowers in bloom along Starrigavan Ridge and quite a few of them were ones that I had not previously noticed. The heathers were blooming profusely, especially the white mountain heather. Shooting stars were in abundance in the wetter areas. Butterworts were common, and I saw a few Alaska Violets. New to me were marsh marigold, coltsfoot, mitrewort, and a couple of different saxifrages. The variety of flowers on Starrigavan Ridge seems to be higher than what I have noticed on the other ridges close to town. Perhaps this is due to it having a somewhat flatter top with a corresponding increase in the capacity to keep water from running off.
