Starrigavan Ridge from Baby Bear Lake east is an interesting mix of snow banks, wet and dry subalpine meadows with scattered small stands of conifers.
The mix of trees and meadow on the portion of Starrigavan Ridge immediately east of Baby Bear Lake seems to be primarily driven by slope and aspect (which probably control snow load and moisture).
